Canon Abilities: Tara is a witch. Witches don't have definable powers in BtVS, they're able to move things, create things, ressurect others, heal, wipe memories, etc. Some draw from the Earth, others use dark magic. It's never defined, but my headcanon is that Tara draws from the Earth.

• Dead
Death in Tara's mind is something should be respected for the natural order. She follows an oath that witches made long ago to never meddle with life or death. However, she broke that oath to resurrect Buffy. Because of what Buffy Buffy shared, she understands that the effects of bringing someone back doesn't just affect the magical order, but also the person in question. Buffy went to Heaven, being brought back was jarring to her, leaving her feeling numb to everything around her, as well as convincing her that she came back wrong. Tara worked closely with her to investigate this, finding Buffy is a normal human, but her emotions were left out of whack. This was a lesson to Tara, and likely something she will face in game.

• Friendly
Friends and being friendly means everything to Tara. For most of her life, she never had friends, she was alone. Because of her painful shyness, she held back, never sharing or thoughts or adding to conversations. She joined a Wiccan club in college, but it's only when Willow reached out to her that Tara finally found her voice. Being part of the Scooby Gang changed her. Tara wasn't just an outsider accepted by them, she became close to each member individually. She became more bold, able to tease and joke, and to stand up for her beliefs, even against others. These friends helped break the gas lighting from her childhood, which made her believe she was a demon. Buffy and the Scoobies declared her family, which was the best part of her life.

• Sin
Sin relates back to her childhood. Tara's father is very religious, close to Evangelical levels of faith. He believed women should be kept in line and follow the dictates of men. To control the women of the family, a myth began that these women, particularly the magically talented women were of a demon line. Tara was gaslit from a young age to believe she's a demon, rather than a normal human. At some point, this became so oppressive that she fled her family and moved to Sunnydale. She still believed that she is a demon, enough that kept it from the Scoobies. Eventually, her family tracked her down and tried to take her home. It was only when Spike intervened by punching Tara, that he proved she is human, as his chip went off. She sent her family away, preferring her friends to the life she lived before.

• Child
A child relates to Dawn in Tara's mind. Dawn is Buffy's younger sister and she's deeply connected to Tara. First, Dawn endears herself to Tara, showering her with affection, especially on Tara's birthday when she gives her a broom. Another time, Tara and Dawn thumbwrestle while Buffy, Xander, and Willow fight. Tara learns eventually that Dawn is The Key. Glory, the goddess hunting Dawn, tries to get the information from Tara by torturing her. Eventually, she feeds on Tara's mind, leaving her essentially childlike. Inadvertently, because of her state, she reveals Dawn as the Key. After Buffy's sacrifice, Tara and Willow become surrogate mothers to her. This remains even after Buffy returns, as Dawn responds to Willow and Tara's breakup as if they’re getting divorced. Once they reconcile, Dawn is absolutely giddy. However, Tara is soon after killed. Dawn is distraught in finding her, she refuses to leave Tara's body alone. They deeply loved each other as family.

• Flower
Willow once wiped Tara's mind with a flower called "Lethe's Bramble." It happened when the pair had an argument regarding Willow's excessive use of magic. To stop the fight and keep Tara from bringing up the idea of Willow from using magic, Willow made her forget the conversation. During the musical episode, Tara figures out what Willow did, after researching the flower. This was an egregious betrayal to Tara, especially after how Glory wiped her mind. She nearly breaks up with Willow, but Willow begs for a second chance, agreeing to a week without magic. Willow, however, behind Tara's back, tries to make Tara to forget the fight again, but the spell backfires, making everyone forget who they are. Once that spell is broken, Tara realizes what Willow did. This was the final nail in the coffin, resulting in their break up and Tara moving back to the dorms. It's only when Tara sees Willow has changed, limiting her magic, that they eventually reconcile.
